Spend five days walking a classic Garhwal route that links oak forest, high meadows, and the stone shrine of Rudranath at 3 550 m.
The trek starts with a road journey from Haridwar to the Saggar, then climbs through rhododendron woods to the open grass of Panar Bugyal. A sunrise push over Pitra Dhar ridge gives your first clear look at Hathi Parvat and Nanda Ghunti. A gentle traverse brings you to Rudranath Temple, set in a natural rock recess. After darshan and a tea break you return to Panar for a second night under the stars, descend to Saggar, and finish with a relaxed drive to Chopta and back to Haridwar.
The 34 km trail is moderate and well marked, meals are vegetarian, and tents or lodges are ready at each halt. Bring good trekking shoes, two warm layers, and a photo ID; we handle permits, guides, transport, and food so you can focus on the trek
After breakfast you will descend the same forest trail to Saggar, reaching the road-head by early afternoon.
A waiting vehicle will drive you to Chopta in about an hour; en-route you may stop for roadside maggi and tea.
Then we’ll check-in to insulated Swiss tents and then enjoy a warm dinner.
We’ll have a lunch halt during our return journey.
Then we will aim to drop you at Haridwar railway station or airport shuttle stand.
We really look forward to start this journey with you. So pack your bags and come join us!

Season check
Trails stay firm and views stay clear from May to late June and mid-September to late October. Monsoon weeks turn them muddy and cloud-bound.
Altitude sense
The temple sits at 3 550 m. Walk steadily, drink plenty of water, and plan to feel a little short of breath on the final climb.
Essential kit
Bring ankle-high trekking shoes, a waterproof shell, two warm layers, head-torch, and cash for small tea stalls; there are no ATMs after Rudraprayag.
