The trek starts from Sankri village and takes around 5 days to complete, covering approximately 20 kilometers. Your Kedarkantha Trek starts from Dehradun. Meet the representative who will take you to Sankri, a charming village nestled in the mountains. Enjoy the scenic views along the way as you travel through beautiful valleys and villages. The route is scenic and takes you through a dense pine forest, filling the air with the sweet aroma of pines. Drive alongside the Tons River & reach Sankri in the evening. Proceed with the check-in formalities in the Hotel. Overnight stay in Sankri.
Have breakfast and check out from the Hotel. Start your trek from Sankri Village to Juda Ka Talab. Along the way, cross several high-altitude suspension bridges and small villages. Reach Juda Ka Talab, a lake that holds a mythological significance to Lord Shiva. Check in to the camps a few 100 meters away from the lake for an overnight stay.
After breakfast, check out from the campsite and start your trek to the Base Camp. Immerse yourself in the beauty of a snow-lined path and patches of green that surround your way. The imposing view of the snow-capped Himalayan peaks of Bandarpoonch, Swargarohini, Kala Nag, and Ranglana will surely fascinate you and make your experience worthwhile. Upon reaching the campsite, mark the end of the day with a wonderful dinner and retire to the tents for the night.
The day you've been waiting for! Wake up early and start your trek at around 2:00 AM in the morning. You will get to feel the welcoming and filtered sun rays from the mountains of the Yamunotri and Gangotri ranges and also of the Kinner Kailash ranges. On reaching the summit witness the breathtaking view of the sun rising from the summit. Afterward, it's time to descend back to the Kedarkantha Base Camp and then to Juda Ka Talab for an overnight stay.
After breakfast, check out from the campsite and start descending back towards Sankri Village which is a 4 km trek taking 2-3 hours. After reaching Sankri, meet the representative who will take you to Dehradun. Hold on to as many beautiful memories as you can in your heart and bid farewell to the Mighty Himalayas with gratitude and fondness.
