Welcome to Manali, your base for the next few days!
We’ll meet at a designated spot where our SkyHike representative will meet you.
After a quick briefing, we’ll reach the hotel. Today, you'll settle in and get acclimatized to the mountain air.
Upon arrival, check into your accommodation and take the time to relax.
The morning will be spent meeting fellow trekkers, discussing the adventure ahead, and getting familiar with the upcoming itinerary.
It’s also a great time to go over trekking basics like packing efficiently and understanding what gear you’ll need.
Additionally, we’ll complete all necessary paperwork and permits required for the trek.
At night, enjoy your dinner and get plenty of rest.
After a filling breakfast, we’ll begin our scenic drive to Dhundi, the start of our trek.
The drive takes you through beautiful views of the Solang Valley, offering glimpses of paragliders and the vibrant scenery.
By early afternoon, we begin our 4.5 km trek to Bakkarthatch.
This easy-to-moderate trek takes you through rocky paths, dense forests, and gentle ascents.
Along the way, you'll be surrounded by stunning mountain views and the peaceful atmosphere of the Himalayas.
The trek leads us to Bakkarthatch, where we’ll set up camp and pitch our tents.
Afterward, we’ll take a short acclimatization walk to help your body adjust to the altitude.
You can stroll around while we prepare a delicious meal.
At night, enjoy your warm dinner with everyone else.
Today’s trek is steeper, with a continuous climb.
After a morning breakfast and warm-up, we begin our hike to Lady Leg, passing through vibrant meadows adorned with wildflowers.
The constant climb will challenge you, but the views of the surrounding peaks will keep you motivated.
Once we arrive at Lady Leg, we’ll set up camp and spend the afternoon learning technical mountaineering skills like ice craft.
You’ll get a chance to practice these skills, which will be essential for the summit.
The rest of the day is spent resting and acclimatizing while taking in the stunning surroundings of the Pir Panjal and Dhauladhar ranges.
At the end of the day, we’ll enjoy dinner together with everyone.
After a hot breakfast, we start the journey to the Summit Camp.
This day involves passing through loose rocks and deep snow, making the trek more challenging.
As we move into the higher altitude, the snow-covered terrain will require extra focus and care.
Once at the Summit Camp, we’ll set up tents and conduct a short training session on ice trekking and mountain techniques.
Then we’ll prepare lunch while you enjoy your time exploring the place.
We’ll gather together at night to have a hearty meal. Then it’s time to take plenty of rest.
Today, we repeat the trek from the previous day, but now that you’re used to the terrain and snow boots, it should feel easier.
After breakfast, we’ll set up camp at Summit Camp for the final push to the summit.
After a relaxing lunch and some rest, we’ll spend the afternoon resting and mentally preparing for the climb.
The evening is all about final preparation. Enjoy a warm meal at night and then go to rest.

We start the climb early in the morning, with the first part of the trek involving steep snow and rocky terrain.
The journey will be physically demanding, but the view from the top will make every step worthwhile.
Around mid-morning, we’ll finally reach the summit, where you’ll be rewarded with panoramic views of the Himalayas.
After seeing the stunning scenery, we’ll begin the descent.
Once back at Summit Camp, we’ll pack up and return to Lady Leg for the night, allowing our bodies to recover from the tough day.
At night, we’ll have our dinner and then will have plenty of rest.
This day is set aside for a second summit attempt in case of bad weather or unforeseen challenges on the previous day.
It’s there for flexibility, ensuring that everyone has a fair shot at reaching the summit.
We’ll start our day with a hearty breakfast.
On the final day, we’ll retrace our steps back to Bakkarthatch and then drive to Manali.
The trek is relatively short, and once we’re back in the town, we’ll have the evening to relax and reflect on the past week.

Weather Planning:
Friendship Peak is in the Himachal Pradesh region and has cold, snowy winters and mild summers. The best time for trekking is between May and October when the weather is more favorable.
Prepare for High Altitude:
At an altitude of 5,290 meters, be prepared for altitude sickness. Acclimatization is important, so take time to adjust and stay hydrated.
Trekking Gear:
Bring proper trekking boots, warm clothing, and rain gear. The terrain can be challenging, so ensure you have the right gear for a safe and comfortable trek.
Book in Advance:
Due to its popularity among trekkers, it’s advisable to book with SkyHike well ahead of your trip, especially during peak trekking seasons (May-June and September-October).
To reach Manali, you can choose from three modes of transportation:
By Bus: The best way to reach Manali by road is to take a bus from major cities like Delhi. There are several overnight buses available that take around 12 hours.
By Train: The nearest railway station is Ambala Cantt, located about 200 km away from Manali, or you can opt to travel to Chandigarh, which is 250 km away. From there, you can take a taxi or bus to Manali.
By Plane: The nearest airport is Bhuntar Airport (Kullu-Manali Airport), which is approximately 50 km from Manali. You can fly into Bhuntar from major cities, then take a taxi to Manali.
