This 11 day road journey takes you from Chandigarh through Manali, Kinnaur, Spiti, Kalpa, and Shimla before returning to Chandigarh. It is a complete circuit covering valleys, high altitude desert landscapes, monasteries, remote villages, and mountain passes. The SkyHike team has structured this route carefully to balance long drive days with meaningful stops and comfortable overnight stays.
Distance: ~270 km | Travel Time: ~7 hrs
Your journey begins from Chandigarh as the SkyHike driver and vehicle receive you for the onward drive to Manali. The 270 km journey takes around 7 hours, depending on traffic and weather.
The drive gradually leaves the plains and enters the Shivalik ranges. You will follow the Beas River for long stretches, passing through Mandi and Kullu.
A short photography halt is usually made near Pandoh Dam, where the reservoir and surrounding hills create a scenic backdrop.
By evening, reach Manali and check in to your hotel. After a long but comfortable drive, the evening is kept relaxed.

Distance: ~70–90 km (approx. local circuit) | Travel Time: 6–7 hrs including stops
After breakfast, begin a full day of local sightseeing around Manali and beyond.
Start with a visit to Mall Road for a relaxed walk through local shops and cafes. If time permits, visit Hadimba Devi Temple, located amidst cedar forests.
Later, drive towards Solang Valley and continue through the Atal Tunnel, one of the longest high altitude road tunnels in the world. As you exit the tunnel, the landscape shifts dramatically into Lahaul region.
Visit Sissu village and Sissu Waterfall, where you can take short breaks for photography. Continue towards Koksar for wide Himalayan views. If weather and time permit, optional adventure activities like paragliding or river rafting may be available.
By evening, return to Manali for overnight stay.

Distance: ~270 km | Travel Time: ~9 hrs
Today is one of the longer drive days. After breakfast, depart from Manali towards Sarahan via Kullu, Mandi, and Rampur.
The road follows the Sutlej River for long stretches, offering deep valley views. As you approach Rampur, apple orchards and traditional Kinnaur style houses begin to appear.
The 270 km journey takes approximately 9 hours including stops. Gradually, the terrain becomes quieter and less crowded compared to Manali.
By evening, reach Sarahan and check in to your hotel.

Distance: ~186 km + 22 km detour to Chitkul | Travel Time: 7–8 hrs
After breakfast, begin your drive towards Sangla. The journey includes a detour to Chitkul, located approximately 22 km ahead from the main road.
Chitkul is known as the last inhabited village near the Indo Tibetan border. You can spend time walking around the village and along the Baspa River.
Continue your drive through the Baspa Valley and Rakcham meadows. Snow peaks often appear closer as you move deeper into the valley.
By late afternoon or evening, reach Sangla and check in at your hotel. You may take a short village walk if time permits.

Distance: ~109 km | Travel Time: ~4 hrs
After breakfast, you may visit Kamru Fort and Berinag Temple in Sangla before proceeding towards Nako.
The drive covers approximately 109 km and takes around 4 hours. Along the way, you will witness the confluence of Baspa and Sutlej rivers near Khab Sangam.
The landscape becomes more rugged and dry as you approach Nako, signaling entry into the Spiti region.
Arrive at Nako Village by afternoon or early evening. Nako is known for its peaceful setting and open Himalayan views.

Distance: ~111 km | Travel Time: 4–5 hrs (excluding sightseeing time)
After breakfast, explore Nako Village and Nako Lake briefly before beginning your journey towards Kaza.
The drive covers approximately 111 km and includes important stops. Visit Tabo Monastery, over 1,000 years old, along with the nearby meditation caves. Continue towards Dhankar Monastery, located dramatically on a cliff, with a viewpoint overlooking the valley.
You will also visit Gue Village, known for the naturally preserved mummy of a monk.
By evening, reach Kaza and check in at your homestay.

Distance: ~70–90 km (round trip) | Travel Time: 6–7 hrs
After breakfast, begin a full day exploration of Spiti Valley.
Visit Key Monastery, the largest monastery in the region. Continue towards Kibber Village, known for its high altitude setting and wildlife habitat.
Drive across Chicham Bridge, one of the highest suspension bridges in Asia. Later, visit Langza Village with its large Buddha statue and fossil rich landscape.
Proceed to Komic Village and Hikkim Post Office, known as the world’s highest post office.
Return to Kaza by evening.

Distance: ~210 km | Travel Time: 7–8 hrs
After breakfast, depart from Kaza towards Kalpa. The 210 km journey takes approximately 7 to 8 hours.
The drive includes views of Lingti Waterfall and long stretches of Kinnaur landscapes. As you approach Kalpa, apple orchards begin to reappear.
By evening, reach Kalpa and check in at your hotel. If weather permits, enjoy views of the Kinnaur Kailash range from the hotel area.

Distance: ~220 km | Travel Time: ~8 hrs
After breakfast, begin your drive from Kalpa to Shimla. The 220 km journey takes around 8 hours.
You will pass through Rampur and Narkanda, driving alongside the Sutlej River and through pine forests.
By evening, reach Shimla and check in at your hotel.

Distance: ~30–40 km (local) | Travel Time: 4–5 hrs including stops
After breakfast, explore Shimla and nearby Kufri.
Visit Kufri for snow views and optional activities. Later, head to Jakhoo Hanuman Temple, the highest point in Shimla.
Spend time on Mall Road, visit Christ Church, and enjoy a relaxed evening walk along the Ridge.
Return to hotel for overnight stay in Shimla.

After early breakfast and checkout by around 8:00 AM, begin your drive to Chandigarh.
The 102 km journey takes approximately 3 hours. Drop will be arranged at Chandigarh Railway Station or as per departure plan.
