Trek Highlights

Get ready for the adventure of a lifetime on the Bali Pass trek. Walking through lush forests of pine and fir, and then suddenly finding yourself camping alongside a glistening river. As we make our way through the stunning Har Ki Dun valley, you'll feel like you've stepped into a surreal world. And that's just the beginning.

We'll witness the sacred Yamunotri valley, and you'll be mesmerized by the breathtaking waterfalls along the way. One of the highlights of our journey is spending a relaxing day beside the serene Ruinsara Lake, surrounded by glaciers. And let's not forget the picture-perfect meadows of Devsu Thatch and Thanga - you'll feel like you're walking on air!

Keep your eyes peeled for some amazing wildlife, including majestic monals, ibex, and even the elusive brown bear. And for the ultimate thrill, we'll get up close and personal with the mighty Kalanag, also known as the Black Peak. The grand finale? Reaching the snow-capped summit and taking in the breathtaking views of the Swargarohini peak and Bandarpunch ranges.

Itinerary

Day 1 Day 1: Kick-Off in Dehradun (Drive 200 Km, 7 Hrs)
  • Your journey begins in Dehradun, a perfect starting point for our trek.
  • We will pick you up from Dehradun in our comfortable private vehicle or tempo traveler, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable ride.
  • As we set off, prepare for a scenic drive alongside the beautiful Tons River, where you’ll pass through quaint villages like Damta, Purola, Mori, and Netwar, each offering a glimpse into local life and culture.
  • After approximately 8-9 hours of driving, we will reach our base camp in Sankri, located about 180 kilometers from Dehradun. The breathtaking views of the Greater Himalayan peaks will leave you speechless and filled with anticipation for the adventure ahead.
  • Upon arrival, you’ll check into your cozy guesthouse or homestay provided by Skyhike, where you can unwind and soak in the stunning surroundings.
  • In the evening, enjoy a delicious and fulfilling dinner prepared for you, featuring local cuisine to nourish your body after a long day of travel.
  • After dinner, take some time to relax and rest, as tomorrow promises to be an exciting and adventurous day ahead.
Day 2 Day 2: Sankri to Seema (Drive 10 Km, 30 min to 1 hrs & Trek 12Km, 7-8 Hrs)
  • After enjoying a delicious breakfast, we’ll set off for Taluka in our private vehicle or tempo traveler.
  • This scenic drive will take approximately 30 minutes to 1 hour, covering a distance of about 10 kilometers, as we travel through picturesque landscapes.
  • Upon arriving in Taluka, the trek will begin alongside the gushing Supin River, surrounded by stunning plantations and charming villages.
  • During the trek, you’ll have the chance to see walnut, pine, deodar, and maple trees, and you might even spot some local wildlife.
  • As we trek, we’ll pass through the delightful villages of Gangad and Osla, offering you a glimpse into the rich Garhwali culture and hospitality.
  • Our destination for the day is Seema, a quaint settlement located just across from Osla village.
  • Once we arrive at the campsite, we’ll set up the tents provided by Skyhike, allowing you to immerse yourself in the beauty of nature’s serenity.
  • After settling in, you can explore the nearby surroundings and take in the stunning views, while we prepare a delicious meal for you.
  • In the evening, enjoy your warm dinner under the stars, and then retreat to your tents for a well-deserved rest after a fulfilling day of adventure.
Day 3 Day 3: Seema to Roiltia (Trek 9 Km, 5 Hrs)
  • Before starting our trek, we’ll enjoy a hearty breakfast consisting of delicious local vegetarian meals, fueling us for the adventures ahead.
  • After breakfast, we’ll set off on our trek, leaving behind the last of the human settlements as we continue along the scenic Supin River and enter the beautiful Ruinsara Valley.
  • As we trek, you'll be captivated by the stunning views of the Devsu Thatch meadow, with the majestic Swargarohini ranges and Kalanag (Black Peak) in sight.
  • The towering mountains and lush green forests will create a breathtaking backdrop, making every step a memorable experience.
  • We'll continue our descent towards the waterfall camp at Roiltia, which is nestled amidst deodar trees and filled with the soothing sound of cascading water.
  • After reaching our campsite at Roiltia, we’ll set up our tents provided by Skyhike, ensuring you have a comfortable and cozy place to rest.
  • Roilta is a stunning location, so make sure to take some time to explore the local surroundings and soak in the beauty of nature.
  • In the evening, enjoy your hot traditional dinner prepared for you, and then settle in for a well-deserved rest after a fulfilling day of trekking.
Day 4 Day 4: Roiltia to Ruinsara Lake (Trek 30 Km, 10-12 Hrs)
  • Before starting our trek, we’ll enjoy a hearty breakfast to fuel our bodies for the adventure ahead. You can also pack some energy bars and nuts to keep your energy levels up during the trek.
  • Today is the day we've all been waiting for - we’ll head towards the breathtaking Ruinsara Lake. This trek is relatively short, taking around 4-5 hours to cover approximately 7 kilometers, but it promises stunning views and a chance to spot some incredible wildlife along the way.
  • Ruinsara Lake is a hidden gem nestled in the heart of the Himalayas. The tranquil atmosphere and peaceful surroundings will make you feel like you're in a nature paradise, far away from the hustle and bustle of daily life.
  • Upon reaching the lake, we’ll set up our camp nearby, allowing you to take in the serene beauty and enjoy the soothing sounds of nature.
  • In the evening, we’ll gather around a campfire, sharing stories with fellow trekkers while enjoying our hearty hot dinner prepared by the Skyhike team.
  • This overnight camping experience near Ruinsara Lake will be a memorable highlight of your trek, providing you with a perfect blend of adventure and tranquility.
Day 5 Day 5: Acclimatization Day at Ruinsara Lake
  • Think of today as a relaxation day, where you can unwind and recharge. We’ll be staying put at the stunning Ruinsara Lake, allowing you the time to explore the surrounding areas at your leisure.
  • In the morning, we’ll start with a delicious breakfast prepared by the Skyhike team, providing you with the energy needed for the day ahead.
  • If you're feeling adventurous, we can embark on a short trek to the nearby Banderpunch glacier or Kyarkoti, which will take about 3-4 hours and cover approximately 6 kilometers. The views are absolutely stunning, making it a perfect opportunity for some exercise and exploration.
  • In the afternoon, we’ll have a leisurely lunch along with some snacks to keep you energized throughout the day.
  • This is your day to do whatever you want, at your own pace—whether it’s taking a peaceful walk by the lake, practicing photography, or simply soaking in the majestic surroundings.
  • After a fulfilling day of relaxation and exploration, we’ll gather for dinner in the evening. As the sun sets, enjoy a hearty meal while reflecting on the day's experiences.
  • Make sure to get plenty of rest tonight, as we’ll have an exciting and adventurous day ahead tomorrow!
Day 6 Day 6: Ruinsara Lake to Odari (Trek 62 Km, 12-14 Hrs)
  • On day 6, we’ll begin our adventure with a hearty breakfast prepared by the Skyhike team, ensuring you’re energized for the trek ahead.
  • After breakfast, we'll set off on our journey to Odari. Our first leg involves descending to the riverbed, which will take about 30 minutes, before crossing over and ascending to the beautiful Thanga meadow. This section of the trek covers approximately 5 kilometers and offers picturesque views.
  • As we approach Odari, a naturally formed cave rock, you'll be captivated by its mythological significance and stunning surroundings. The unique rock formations and breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains make this stop a highlight of our trek.
  • We’ll continue our trek and camp below Bali Pass, situated amidst a glacial moraine with the soothing sounds of the river nearby. This leg of the trek will take around 2-3 hours and cover about 6 kilometers, leading us to our campsite.
  • Upon reaching our campsite, we’ll set up our tents and prepare for a cozy evening. As night falls, we’ll gather around the campfire to enjoy a warm dinner, sharing stories and reflecting on our day’s journey.
  • Make sure to take in the serene atmosphere of the mountains before heading to your tent for a well-deserved night’s rest.
Day 7 Day 7: Odari to Upper Dhamni via Bali Pass (Trek 14 Km, 7 Hrs)
  • On day 7, we’ll start our trek early, so make sure to get a good night’s sleep! We’ll begin our day with a hearty breakfast prepared by the Skyhike team, fueling us for the adventure ahead.
  • After breakfast, we’ll gather for some morning exercises to get our bodies warmed up. Once energized, we’ll pack our bags and set off on our journey.
  • We'll aim to reach the Bali Pass summit by 8 AM, a trek that covers approximately 4 kilometers and takes about 2-3 hours. The views from the summit are nothing short of breathtaking, showcasing the stunning Yamunotri valley, Saptrishi Kund, and the majestic Banderpunch peaks. You’ll truly feel on top of the world!
  • After soaking in the beauty at the summit, we’ll carefully descend to Upper Dhamni. This portion of the trek will take around 3-4 hours, covering about 6 kilometers. The descent allows us to enjoy the stunning views of the surrounding mountains and valleys.
  • Upon arriving at our campsite in Upper Dhamni, we’ll set up our tents and take some time to explore the area. Afterward, we’ll prepare a delicious dinner to refuel after our long day of trekking.
  • Finally, gather around for a hearty meal and share your experiences with fellow trekkers before resting up for another exciting day ahead!
Day 8 Day 8: Upper Dhamni to Yamunotri to Janki Chatti
  • On day 8, we’ll set out for one of the most significant destinations of our trek—the Yamunotri shrine. Start your day with a fulfilling breakfast prepared by the Skyhike team to give you the energy for the trek ahead.
  • After breakfast, we’ll begin our journey toward the Yamunotri shrine. This trek is approximately 6 kilometers long and takes about 4-5 hours. As we ascend, take in the stunning views of the surrounding mountains and valleys.
  • When we reach the Yamunotri shrine, take a moment to pay your respects and soak in the spiritual energy of this sacred site, which is steeped in history and mythology.
  • Following our visit, we’ll make our way down to Janki Chatti. This descent is approximately 5 kilometers and should take us around 2-3 hours.
  • Upon arriving in Janki Chatti, a cozy guesthouse provided by Skyhike will be waiting for us. Here, you can finally relax, enjoy a delicious dinner, and rejuvenate after an amazing trek.
  • Tonight, take your time to unwind and reflect on the incredible journey we’ve shared. This serene setting is perfect for sharing stories with fellow trekkers and enjoying the camaraderie built along the way.
  • Tomorrow, we’ll head back to Dehradun, bringing back stories and experiences that will last a lifetime!
Day 9 Day 9: Janki Chatti to Dehradun (Drive 155 Km, 6 Hrs)
  • On our final day, we’ll drive back to Dehradun, marking the end of our incredible journey. We’ll start the day with a hearty breakfast provided by Skyhike, ensuring we have the energy for our travels.
  • As we make our way back, we’ll take time to visit scenic spots like the Kempty Waterfalls, where you can enjoy the refreshing sight of cascading water. The drive to Kempty is approximately 15 kilometers and takes about 30 minutes.
  • After exploring, we’ll continue our journey through Nainbagh and Mussourie, with breathtaking views that showcase the beauty of the Himalayas.
  • The drive back to Dehradun will cover around 90 kilometers, taking approximately 3 hours. As we travel, take in the picturesque villages and stunning mountains that we pass by, each adding to the memories of our adventure.

  1. Difficulty: The Bali Pass trek is considered moderate to difficult. It's challenging due to the high altitude, technical pass crossing, and steep ascents and descents. The trek also involves navigating thin air and extremely cold temperatures, especially at night.
  2. Preparation: You should be physically fit and mentally resilient. You should also start preparing at least a month before the trek with regular exercise

  • 👉 While entering passenger names during the booking process, Do ensure that they exactly match the names on the travel documents (e.g. Aadhar Crad/PAN card/ Passport/Voter ID card/Any Identity Card) that you will be carrying for the Trip/Trek.

  • 👉 The passenger names in the booking form should be exactly as per Adhar Card. Sky Hike will not bear any liability for the name change fee if incorrect names and ages have been added at the time of booking.

  • 👉 In case your package needs to be canceled due to any natural calamity, weather conditions, etc. SkyHike reserves the right to deny a refund request in the event of a disaster, depending on the nature of the disaster and its impact on the organization.

  • 👉 Sky Hike reserves the right to modify the itinerary at any point, due to reasons including but not limited to Force Majeure events, strikes, fairs, festivals, weather conditions, traffic problems, cancellation rescheduling, closure of /entry restrictions at a place of visit, etc. While we will do our best to make suitable alternate arrangements, we will not be held liable for any refunds/compensation claims arising out of this.

Payment Policies

👉 100.0% of the total Trip/Trek cost will have to be paid 7 days before the Date of Travel.

👉 To confirm your Trek/Trip booking, a 30% advance payment is necessary. Once we receive your deposit, we'll send you a confirmation email with all the details, Invoice & due amount, and payment date.

 

Cancelation & Refund Policy

👉 If cancellation is made 30 days or more before the Date of Travel, 25% of the total Booking Cost will be charged as cancellation fees.

👉 If cancellation is made between 29 days to 16 days before the date of travel, 50% of the total Booking Cost will be charged as cancellation fees.

👉 If cancellation is made between 7 days to 15 days before the date of travel, 80% of the total Booking Cost will be charged as cancellation fees.

👉 If cancellation is made within 7 days before the date of travel, the total booking cost will be charged as cancellation fees.

👉 If payment is not made as per the schedule provided in the first booking confirmation Email, Sky Hike reserves the right to cancel the booking after attempting to get in touch with you. Refunds would be as per the package Cancellation policy.

👉 Transfer your Trek/Trip (any Trek/Trip, within 2 months of your Date of Travel) to your friend before 15 days of your Date of Travel.

👉 70% cash voucher in the form of 'HikeCoin' for any other Trip/Trek for one year, If we are informed before 20 days of the date of travel. (1 Rupees = 10 HikeCoin)

👉 80% cash voucher in the form of 'HikeCoin' for the same Trip/Trek for one year. If we are informed before 20 days of the date of travel. (1 Rupee = 10 HikeCoin)

👉 The applicable refund amount will be processed within 10 business days.

 

Child Policy

👉 We recommend avoiding going on adventure trips with young children below the age of 7 years including Dham Yatra. The Dham Yatra has a demanding itinerary that can be challenging for young children.

👉 Children under 5 years old are free of charge. However, Please note that this typically applies to one child per paying adult. Additional children under 5 Y/O may require a separate seat or pay a discounted fare.

👉 Children between 6 and 12 years old will be charged 70% of the adult travel cost (per person).

👉 Children 13 years and older will be charged the full adult travel cost.

👉 Please be sure to provide the accurate age of all traveling children at the time of booking.

👉 Documentation proving a child's age may be required during check-in (e.g., birth certificate, Adhar Card/Passport).
