Package Highlights

Pankhu Top Trek Package 4 Nights 5 Days is a beautiful offbeat Himalayan trek in the Kumaon region of Uttarakhand. Also known as Pakhwa Bugyal, Pankhu Top is located on the ridge above Jhuni and Khati villages in Bageshwar district. The trek offers a raw and peaceful trail experience with remote Himalayan villages, dense forests, open alpine meadows and scenic mountain landscapes.

The summit of Pankhu Top stands at around 3400 meters and offers clear views of the Sunderdhunga Valley range along with major Himalayan peaks such as Nanda Kot, Maiktoli and Nanda Devi East. The trek route also includes Sarmool, the origin of the Saryu River, and Sahastradhara, a peaceful natural site known for its sacred and refreshing surroundings.

This trek is suitable for trekkers with basic fitness who are comfortable walking in the mountains. It offers a balanced experience of moderate adventure, village culture, forest trails, meadow walks, camping at Bajlingdhar and homestay stays in Jhuni and Khati villages. Pankhu Top can be planned in different seasons, with rhododendron blooms in spring, pleasant weather in summer, lush green views in monsoon and snow-covered bugyal landscapes in winter.

Itinerary

Day 1 Kathgodam to Jhuni Village
  • Your journey starts early in the morning with pickup from Kathgodam Railway Station around 6:30 AM. After meeting the team, begin your scenic drive towards the Kumaon Himalayas.
  • The route passes through beautiful valleys, mountain roads and peaceful hill settlements. Travel towards Bharadi, where you may change to another local shared vehicle for the final stretch towards Jhuni Village.
  • Reach Jhuni Village by evening and check in to a comfortable local homestay. After settling in, enjoy tea, relax and experience the peaceful surroundings of this remote Himalayan village.
  • In the evening, the trek leader will conduct a short briefing session about the route, safety instructions, trek difficulty, weather conditions and important preparation tips.
  • Dinner and overnight stay will be at the homestay in Jhuni Village.
Day 2 Trek to Sarmool and Sahastradhara and Return to Jhuni
  • Wake up early and enjoy breakfast at the homestay. Around 7:00 AM, begin your trek towards Sarmool and Sahastradhara.
  • Sarmool is known as the origin point of the Saryu River, while Sahastradhara means “a thousand springs.” This region is considered sacred by the locals and offers a calm natural setting surrounded by forests, rocky trails and meadow sections.
  • The trail gives you a beautiful introduction to the Kumaon landscape. Walk through forest patches, natural water sources and open mountain views while enjoying the peaceful atmosphere of the region.
  • After reaching the site, spend some time exploring the area and enjoy your packed lunch in the middle of nature. Later, begin your return trek back to Jhuni Village.
  • Reach Jhuni by late afternoon or evening. Dinner and overnight stay will be at the same homestay.
Day 3 Jhuni Village to Pankhu Top and Bajlingdhar Camp
  • This is the most exciting day of the trek. After an early breakfast, start your trek around 7:00 AM towards Pankhu Top, carrying packed lunch for the day.
  • The trail gradually climbs through lush forests and wide-open meadow sections. As you gain altitude, the views become more dramatic and the surroundings start opening towards the higher Himalayan ranges.
  • Reach Pankhu Top, situated around 3400 meters, and enjoy stunning views of the Kumaon Himalayas. From the summit, you can witness beautiful views of Maiktoli, Devtoli, Sunderdhunga Khal and other surrounding peaks.
  • Spend some peaceful time at the top, capture photographs and enjoy the raw beauty of this offbeat Himalayan viewpoint. After the summit experience, begin your descent towards Bajlingdhar.
  • Reach Bajlingdhar, the last campsite before Pankhu Top, and settle into your campsite. Enjoy a warm dinner and a peaceful night under the stars.
  • Overnight stay will be in camps at Bajlingdhar.
Day 4 Bajlingdhar to Khati Village
  • Wake up to a peaceful morning in the mountains and enjoy breakfast at the campsite. After packing up, begin your downhill trek towards Khati Village.
  • The route descends through forest sections, small streams and open landscapes. The walk is scenic and relaxing after the summit day.
  • Khati Village is one of the largest villages in the Pindar Valley and offers a beautiful glimpse into traditional Himalayan village life. Reach Khati by midday and check in to a local homestay.
  • Enjoy freshly cooked lunch and spend the rest of the day exploring the village, interacting with locals or simply relaxing in the peaceful mountain environment.
  • Dinner and overnight stay will be at a homestay in Khati Village.
Day 5 Khati Village to Kathgodam
  • After breakfast, begin your return journey from Khati Village to Kathgodam. A shared local vehicle will take you towards Bharadi, where you may change vehicles for the final drive.
  • The drive takes you through scenic mountain roads, valleys and small towns of Kumaon. Enjoy the last views of the region as you descend towards Kathgodam.
  • Reach Kathgodam by evening. Your Pankhu Top Trek Package 4 Nights 5 Days ends with beautiful memories of forest trails, alpine meadows, Himalayan peaks, camping and Kumaon village culture.

  • 👉 While entering passenger names during the booking process, do ensure that they exactly match the names on the travel documents (e.g., Aadhar Card/PAN card/ Passport/Voter ID card/Any Identity Card) that you will be carrying for the Trip/Trek.
  • 👉 The passenger names in the booking form should be exactly as per Adhar Card/PAN card/ Passport/Voter ID card/Any Identity Card. Sky Hike will not bear any liability for the name change fee if incorrect names and ages have been added at the time of booking.
  • 👉 In case your package needs to be canceled due to any natural calamity, weather conditions, etc. SkyHike reserves the right to deny a refund request in the event of a disaster, depending on the nature of the disaster and its impact on the organization.
  • 👉 Sky Hike reserves the right to modify the itinerary at any point, due to reasons including but not limited to Force Majeure events, strikes, fairs, festivals, weather conditions, traffic problems, cancellation, rescheduling, closure of /entry restrictions at a place of visit, etc. While we will do our best to make suitable alternate arrangements, we will not be held liable for any refunds/compensation claims arising out of this.
  • 👉 SkyHike is not liable for loss, injury, or damage to person or property caused due to natural calamities or accidents.
  • 👉Travelers/Trekkers must take full responsibility for their personal belongings.
  • 👉Travel Insurance is not included unless mentioned. Strongly recommended for high-risk destinations or international travel.
Payment & Confirmation Policies
  • 👉 100.0% of the total Trip/Trek cost will have to be paid 7 days before the Date of Travel.
  • 👉 Booking will be considered confirmed only after a minimum advance payment of 30% of the total package cost.
  • 👉 Once we receive your deposit, we'll send you a confirmation email with all the details, the Invoice & due amount, and the payment date.
  • 👉 Failure to make a timely payment may result in auto-cancellation without prior notice.
  • 👉 Valid ID proof (Aadhar card, passport, etc.) must be submitted at the time of booking.
  • 👉 For international trips, passport copies with a minimum of 6 months' validity and visa documents must be submitted as per deadlines.
  • 👉 Payments accepted via UPI, Net Banking, Credit/Debit Cards, or bank transfers.
  • 👉 Payments made via Credit/Debit Card may attract an additional payment gateway charge (as per the gateway's fee structure).
  • 👉 Cash payments (if any) must be acknowledged with an official receipt.
  • 👉 If you choose to book flight, train, or bus tickets through SkyHike’s team, Full payment is required to issue flight, train, or bus tickets.
  • 👉 Transport ticket prices are dynamic. Final fare will be as per the live rates visible on the booking portals at the time of processing. Any price difference from previous quotes will be chargeable.
Cancelation & Refund Policy
  • 👉 The advance amount is non-refundable.
  • 👉 The guest is eligible to request a refund only if the paid booking amount exceeds 30%.
  • 👉 If cancellation is made 30 days or more before the Date of Travel, 30% of the total Booking Cost will be charged as cancellation fees.
  • 👉 If cancellation is made between 29 days to 16 days before the date of travel, 50% of the total Booking Cost will be charged as cancellation fees.
  • 👉 If cancellation is made between 7 days to 15 days before the date of travel, 80% of the total Booking Cost will be charged as cancellation fees.
  • 👉 If cancellation is made within 7 days before the date of travel, the total booking cost will be charged as cancellation fees.
    Last-minute No-Show: 100% cancellation charges applicable. No reschedule. No refund.
  • 👉 If payment is not made as per the schedule provided in the first booking confirmation Email, Sky Hike reserves the right to cancel the booking after attempting to get in touch with you. Refunds will be issued as per the package cancellation policy.
  • 👉 Transfer your Trek/Trip (any Trek/Trip, within 2 months of your Date of Travel) to your friend before 15 days of your Date of Travel. However, your friend will be eligible for the transfer only if they have not booked any trip/trek with us and have yet to travel.
  • 👉 You can only transfer your Trip or Trek to those friends or People who haven’t booked any trip with us in a given time period.
  • 👉 80% cash voucher in the form of 'HikeCoin' for any other Trip/Trek for one year, if we are informed before 20 days of the date of travel. (1 Rupees = 10 HikeCoin)
  • 👉 90% cash voucher in the form of 'HikeCoin' for the same Trip/Trek for one year. If we are informed 20 days before the date of travel, (1 Rupee = 10 HikeCoin)
  • 👉 The applicable refund amount will be processed within 10 business days.
  • 👉 The company is not liable for compensation beyond the tour cost.
  • 👉 Non-Refundable Items: Flight/train/bus tickets once issued are non-refundable.
  • 👉 Permit fees, forest entry charges, or third-party service charges are non-refundable.
  • 👉 Flight/train/bus tickets once issued are non-refundable unless the carrier’s official policy allows cancellation with a refund.
  • 👉 Flight/train/bus tickets applicable refunds will be processed as per the terms of that organization or Booking Portal, and service charges (if any) will be deducted.
  • 👉 No refund will be made for partially utilized services like early check-out, skipped meals, missed sightseeing, or transport.
  • 👉 If sightseeing tickets have been pre-booked, refund eligibility will depend on the official cancellation policy of the issuing authority or managing organization of that specific attraction.
Child Policy
  • 👉 We recommend avoiding going on adventure trips with young children below the age of 7 years, including Dham Yatra. The Dham Yatra has a demanding itinerary that can be challenging for young children.
  • 👉 Children under 5 years old are free of charge. However, please note that this typically applies to one child per paying couple. Additional children under 5 Y/O may require a separate seat or pay a discounted fare.
  • 👉 Children between 6 and 12 years old will be charged 70% of the adult travel cost (per person).
  • 👉 Children 12 years and older will be charged the full adult travel cost.
  • 👉 Please be sure to provide the accurate age of all traveling children at the time of booking.
  • 👉 Documentation proving a child's age may be required during check-in (e.g., birth certificate, Adhar Card/Passport).
