The journey begins from Siliguri, Bagdogra Airport or New Jalpaiguri Railway Station and enters Bhutan through Phuntsholing, the gateway town connecting India and Bhutan. From here, travellers continue towards Thimphu, Bhutan’s calm capital city, known for Buddha Dordenma, National Memorial Chorten, Tashichho Dzong, local markets and traditional Bhutanese architecture.

The route then moves towards Punakha through Dochula Pass, offering beautiful views of prayer flags, 108 memorial chortens and Himalayan landscapes, subject to weather and visibility. The trip also includes Punakha Dzong, Punakha Suspension Bridge and Paro sightseeing. The journey concludes with the iconic Taktsang Monastery hike, also known as Tiger Nest Monastery, making this package ideal for families, couples, senior travellers and first-time Bhutan visitors.

Itinerary

Day 1 Siliguri to Phuntsholing

Arrive at Siliguri, Bagdogra Airport or New Jalpaiguri Railway Station as per final trip confirmation.
Meet the local representative and begin your drive towards Phuntsholing.
Phuntsholing is the gateway town to Bhutan and is located near the India and Bhutan border.
The drive may take around 4 to 5 hours depending on traffic, road conditions and border movement.
On arrival in Phuntsholing, proceed to the hotel.
Complete check-in formalities and relax after the journey.
The remaining evening will be at leisure.
Travellers may explore nearby local markets or rest at the hotel.
Overnight stay will be arranged at the hotel in Phuntsholing.

Day 2 Phuntsholing to Thimphu

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel.
After breakfast, complete required permit formalities as per Bhutan travel regulations and final package confirmation.
Later, begin the scenic drive from Phuntsholing to Thimphu.
The route offers beautiful views of hills, valleys, forests, mountain roads and traditional Bhutanese settlements.
On arrival in Thimphu, check in to the hotel.
Spend the evening at leisure.
Travellers may explore local markets, cafés or nearby city areas at their own expense.
Overnight stay will be arranged at the hotel in Thimphu.

Day 3 Thimphu Sightseeing

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel.
After breakfast, proceed for Thimphu sightseeing.
Visit Buddha Dordenma, one of the most famous landmarks of Thimphu and a beautiful viewpoint overlooking the valley.
Visit National Memorial Chorten, a peaceful stupa where locals gather for prayer and circumambulation.
Visit Tashichho Dzong, a beautiful fortress monastery known for Bhutanese architecture and cultural importance.
Depending on final timing and local feasibility, sightseeing may also include Folk Heritage Museum, Simply Bhutan, Changangkha Lhakhang, Motithang Takin Preserve or local handicraft markets.
After sightseeing, return to the hotel.
Overnight stay will be arranged at the hotel in Thimphu.

Day 4 Thimphu to Punakha via Dochula Pass

After breakfast, check out and begin the scenic drive towards Punakha.
En route, stop at Dochula Pass, known for prayer flags, 108 memorial chortens and Himalayan views.
On a clear day, travellers may witness beautiful Himalayan ranges, subject to weather and visibility.
Continue towards Punakha and visit Punakha Dzong, one of Bhutan’s most beautiful dzongs, located near the confluence of the Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu rivers.

Day 5 Punakha to Paro

Visit Paro Dzong, also known as Rinpung Dzong, known for traditional Bhutanese architecture and valley views.
Visit Kyichu Lhakhang, one of the oldest and most sacred temples in Bhutan, subject to final route planning.
Spend the evening at leisure around Paro local market at your own expense.

Day 6 Taktsang Monastery Hike and Transfer to Phuntsholing

After breakfast, proceed for the iconic Taktsang Monastery hike.
Taktsang Monastery, also known as Tiger Nest Monastery, is one of Bhutan’s most sacred landmarks.
The monastery is located on a cliffside above Paro Valley and offers a powerful spiritual experience with scenic valley views.
The hike usually takes around 4 to 6 hours round trip depending on fitness level, weather, pace and route conditions.
After completing the hike, return to Paro and begin the drive towards Phuntsholing.
On arrival in Phuntsholing, check in to the hotel and relax.

Day 7 Phuntsholing to Siliguri Departure

Payment & Confirmation Policies

👉 We recommend avoiding going on adventure trips with young children below the age of 7 years, including Dham Yatra. The Dham Yatra has a demanding itinerary that can be challenging for young children.
👉 Children under 5 years old are free of charge. However, please note that this typically applies to one child per paying couple. Additional children under 5 Y/O may require a separate seat or pay a discounted fare.
👉 Children between 6 and 12 years old will be charged 70% of the adult travel cost (per person).
👉 Children 12 years and older will be charged the full adult travel cost.
👉 Please be sure to provide the accurate age of all traveling children at the time of booking.
👉 Documentation proving a child's age may be required during check-in (e.g., birth certificate, Adhar Card/Passport).

Cancelation & Refund Policy

👉 The advance amount is non-refundable.
👉 The guest is eligible to request a refund only if the paid booking amount exceeds 30%.
👉 If cancellation is made 30 days or more before the Date of Travel, 30% of the total Booking Cost will be charged as cancellation fees.
👉 If cancellation is made between 29 days to 16 days before the date of travel, 50% of the total Booking Cost will be charged as cancellation fees.
👉 If cancellation is made between 7 days to 15 days before the date of travel, 80% of the total Booking Cost will be charged as cancellation fees.
👉 If cancellation is made within 7 days before the date of travel, the total booking cost will be charged as cancellation fees.
Last-minute No-Show: 100% cancellation charges applicable. No reschedule. No refund.
👉 If payment is not made as per the schedule provided in the first booking confirmation Email, Sky Hike reserves the right to cancel the booking after attempting to get in touch with you. Refunds will be issued as per the package cancellation policy.
👉 Transfer your Trek/Trip (any Trek/Trip, within 2 months of your Date of Travel) to your friend before 15 days of your Date of Travel. However, your friend will be eligible for the transfer only if they have not booked any trip/trek with us and have yet to travel.
👉 You can only transfer your Trip or Trek to those friends or People who haven’t booked any trip with us in a given time period.
👉 80% cash voucher in the form of 'HikeCoin' for any other Trip/Trek for one year, if we are informed before 20 days of the date of travel. (1 Rupees = 10 HikeCoin)
👉 90% cash voucher in the form of 'HikeCoin' for the same Trip/Trek for one year. If we are informed 20 days before the date of travel, (1 Rupee = 10 HikeCoin)
👉 The applicable refund amount will be processed within 10 business days.
👉 The company is not liable for compensation beyond the tour cost.
👉 Non-Refundable Items: Flight/train/bus tickets once issued are non-refundable.
👉 Permit fees, forest entry charges, or third-party service charges are non-refundable.
👉 Flight/train/bus tickets once issued are non-refundable unless the carrier’s official policy allows cancellation with a refund.
👉 Flight/train/bus tickets applicable refunds will be processed as per the terms of that organization or Booking Portal, and service charges (if any) will be deducted.
👉 No refund will be made for partially utilized services like early check-out, skipped meals, missed sightseeing, or transport.
