This trek is a perfect mix of road journey, village life, forest trails, and a peaceful high altitude lake visit. Over five days, you travel from Delhi to Shimla, drive deep into Kinnaur, trek through forests to base camp, and finally visit the sacred Yulla Kanda Lake before returning.

Report at Delhi ISBT Kashmiri Gate between 10:00 PM and 11:00 PM. The SkyHike team will coordinate your Volvo boarding. You will begin your overnight journey to Shimla by semi sleeper Volvo bus, covering approximately 340 to 360 km through the night.
The journey gradually takes you from city roads to mountain highways. Early morning arrival in Shimla gives you your first glimpse of the hills.

On arrival in Shimla, the SkyHike driver will receive you and begin the road journey towards Yulla Khas Village in a private Ertiga. The drive covers approximately 200 to 230 km and takes around 7 to 9 hours depending on road conditions.
The route passes through Narkanda, known for its apple orchards and mountain views. As you continue via Rampur Bushahr, you will drive alongside the Sutlej River for long stretches. The valley views here are wide and dramatic.
You will cross Kinnaur Gate, a famous rock tunnel carved into the mountains, and continue through Tapri towards Yulla Khas. Traditional Kinnaur houses and apple orchards can be seen along the way.
By evening, reach Yulla Khas or Tapri and check into your homestay. After a long but scenic drive, dinner will be served and you can rest for the night.

After breakfast, begin your trek from Yulla Village towards base camp. The total trekking distance ranges between 5 to 10 km depending on the exact campsite location, and usually takes around 4 to 6 hours at a steady pace.
The trail passes through oak, pine, and deodar forests. The gradual ascent allows you to adjust to the altitude as you move from 2,400 meters to nearly 3,000 meters.
Along the way, you will walk through alpine meadows and shepherd trails, with open Himalayan views appearing at intervals. The SkyHike trek leader will guide the group and maintain a comfortable pace.
By afternoon, reach base camp and settle into tents. The evening is relaxed, with time to rest and enjoy the quiet mountain surroundings.

Start early after breakfast and begin the trek towards Yulla Kanda Lake. The total trekking distance for the day is around 6 to 7 km, taking approximately 4 to 5 hours including time spent at the lake.
Yulla Kanda Lake is a peaceful alpine lake known for the small Lord Krishna temple located beside it. It is considered one of the highest Krishna temples in the Himalayas. The setting is simple and spiritual, surrounded by alpine landscape and distant snow peaks.
After spending time at the lake, descend back to Yulla Village. Once back, freshen up and begin your return drive to Shimla, covering approximately 200 to 230 km in about 7 to 8 hours.
By late evening, board your overnight Volvo bus from Shimla to Delhi.
