Join us on an incredible adventure through the breathtaking Markha Valley, where the desert landscape stretches out before us like an endless scenery. As we hike through this stunning region, the majestic Ladakh and Zanskar mountains will be our constant companions.

Our path will wind through the beautiful Hemis National Park. This protected area is home to rare and amazing wildlife. Itinerary

Day 1 Day 1: Arrival in Leh
  • On arrival in Leh, check into your hotel, arranged by Skyhike, and take a moment to unwind after your journey. Today is dedicated to relaxation and acclimatization to the high-altitude environment, so go easy and allow your body to adjust.
  • Spend the day exploring at a relaxed pace. Start by visiting the vibrant Leh Market, a fantastic spot to pick up unique souvenirs and immerse yourself in the local culture.
  • Next, head to the nearby Shanti Stupa, a stunning Buddhist monument, where you’ll be rewarded with panoramic views of Leh and the surrounding valleys—ideal for taking in the beauty of Ladakh.
  • As the day cools, find a cozy local café, where you can enjoy a warm cup of traditional tea and relax. In the evening, return to your hotel for a pure vegetarian dinner prepared by local chefs, giving you a taste of the regional flavors.
  • After dinner, settle in for a good night’s sleep. Tomorrow, you’ll be well-rested and ready to start the adventure that awaits in the captivating landscapes of Leh!
Day 2 Day 2: Exploration in Leh
  • Start your day with a hearty breakfast, giving you the energy to explore Leh’s rich culture and history. 
  • Begin with a visit to Shey and Thiksey Gompa, two ancient monasteries renowned for their intricate architecture and peaceful ambiance. As you walk through these sacred sites, you’ll learn about Ladakh’s deep-rooted Buddhist heritage and admire the stunning artistry of these landmarks.
  • Next, make your way to Stok Gompa, perched on a hillside overlooking the Indus Valley. The views from here are breathtaking, with sweeping vistas that highlight the natural beauty of Ladakh’s landscape. Take a moment to soak it all in and capture the scenery.
  • Afterward, take a hike up to the iconic Leh Palace. This historic building offers panoramic views of the city and a clear sight of the majestic Stok Kangri peak in the distance.
  • The palace itself tells stories of the region’s royal past and provides an ideal vantage point for viewing Leh’s unique architecture against the rugged landscape.
  • In the evening, enjoy free time to relax and savor the local cuisine at a nearby restaurant, exploring the flavors that reflect Ladakh’s traditions.
  • Return to the comfort of your Skyhike-provided accommodation for a delicious dinner. Gather with fellow trekkers and share stories from your day, reflecting on the memorable experiences you’ve collected.

Day 3 Day 3: Drive from Leh to Zingchen (Drive 22.5 Km, 40 mins) & Trek to Yurutse (Trek 9 Km, 4 hrs)
  • Today marks the exciting beginning of your Markha Valley trek!
  • After a nourishing breakfast, we’ll set out on a drive to Zingchen via the scenic Spikut Village. The drive will take approximately one hour, offering glimpses of rural life and beautiful landscapes along the way.
  • Upon reaching Zingchen, we’ll start our hike toward Yurutse, a journey that will take around four hours. This path takes us through the charming Rumbak village and several other breathtaking spots, where you’ll have the opportunity to take in the serene beauty of the valley, surrounded by towering mountains.
  • As we arrive in Yurutse, we’ll set up camp amidst lush barley fields, with the dramatic peaks forming a stunning backdrop. Take some time to explore the peaceful surroundings, soak in the crisp mountain air, and connect with nature.
  • Afterward, enjoy a delicious dinner prepared for you, with the ambiance of the majestic mountains surrounding you.
  • When you’re ready, settle into your tent and get a restful night’s sleep—tomorrow brings a longer, more challenging day, so rest up for the adventure that lies ahead!
Day 4 Day 4: Trek from Yurutse to Skiu (3400m) via Ganda La (4900m)
  • We’ll begin the day with a hearty breakfast to fuel up for the challenging trek ahead. Today, we’ll cross the impressive Ganda La pass, standing tall at an elevation of 4,900 meters.
  • Prepare yourself for awe-inspiring views of the valleys below, the majestic Zanskar range, and the distant Himalayan summits—this panoramic sight is truly a moment to remember.
  • After savoring the summit views, we’ll start our descent toward Shingo Village. The trail will lead us through scenic landscapes, river crossings, and lush valleys that immerse you in the untouched beauty of nature. 
  • Our journey continues to Skiu, where the Markha Valley and Shingo rivers converge. Here, you can unwind and let the tranquility wash over you after a long day of trekking.
  • At our campsite, we’ll set up tents and start a warm campfire. As the evening unfolds, enjoy a well-prepared dinner under the starry sky, surrounded by the sounds of nature. This is a perfect way to end an adventurous day and recharge for the journey that lies ahead.
Day 5 Day 5: Trek from Skiu to Markha (Trek 15 Km, 6-7 Hrs)
  • After enjoying a nourishing breakfast, today we’ll set on a 6-7 hour hike to reach the charming Markha Village. Our trail leads us through a series of stream crossings, each one adding to the adventure and offering refreshing moments amid the arid terrain.
  • As we journey on, you’ll discover a hidden oasis in the desert landscape—lush green fields dotted with willow trees, perfect for a relaxing picnic. The contrast of greenery against the rugged surroundings is truly captivating.
  • Once we arrive at Markha, take some time to explore the village’s fascinating history. Wander through the deserted palace and ancient ruins, uncovering the rich past and unique stories embedded in these remnants.
  • At our campsite beside a gently gurgling stream, we’ll set up our tents, creating a cozy resting spot for the night.
  • Enjoy a warm and hearty dinner, accompanied by the soothing sounds of the stream flowing nearby.
Day 6 Day 6: Trek from Markha to Thochuntse
  • Start your day by soaking in the cozy warmth of the morning sunshine, a perfect start to energize for the trek ahead. Enjoy a hearty breakfast, ensuring you’re fueled up and ready to embrace the day’s journey.
  • Today, we’ll trek to Thochuntse, where panoramic views of valleys, flowing rivers, and quaint settlements will accompany us along the trail. Make sure to have your camera ready, as the scenery is nothing short of stunning.
  • Along the way, you’ll be treated to breathtaking glimpses of Kangyatze Peak, towering majestically at an impressive 6,400 meters, providing an unforgettable backdrop for the trek.
  • Upon reaching Thochuntse, we’ll set up camp in a beautifully scenic spot, perfectly nestled in nature’s embrace. As evening sets in, enjoy a warm, delicious dinner in this tranquil environment, surrounded by the peaceful beauty of the mountains.
  • After dinner, settle into your tent and take a well-deserved rest, rejuvenating for the next day’s adventure.
Day 7 Day 7: Trek from Thochuntse to Nimaling (Trek 7.5 Km, 4 Hrs)
  • Today’s trek is a relatively relaxed one, lasting around four hours, which allows you to take it slow and fully savor the beauty around you. Begin with a hearty breakfast to fuel up before setting off on the trail.
  • As we make our way, you’ll enter a vast, open valley with sprawling grazing grounds that stretch as far as the eye can see. Keep an eye out for local wildlife, which often roams freely in these open spaces. The valley is framed by the awe-inspiring Kangyatze Peak, providing a stunning backdrop that’s picture-perfect for capturing memorable photos.
  • For those feeling adventurous, there’s an optional side trek to the Kangyatze base camp. This short detour brings you up close to the majestic peak, offering a unique perspective and making for an unforgettable experience.
  • After reaching the campsite, we’ll set up our tents in a peaceful spot surrounded by natural beauty. In the evening, unwind with a delicious hot meal, prepared for you to enjoy under the starlit sky.
Day 8 Day 8: Trek from Nimaling to Sumdo & Drive to Leh (Drive 617 Km, 16 Hrs)
  • Today’s trek is a relaxed one, lasting around four hours, allowing you to take in the surrounding beauty at a comfortable pace. We’ll begin the day with a hearty breakfast, provided by Skyhike, to fuel up for the trail ahead.
  • Once we set off, the journey will take us into a vast, open valley with expansive grazing grounds that seem to go on forever. You may even catch glimpses of local wildlife freely roaming these open spaces.
  • Throughout the trek, the awe-inspiring Kangyatze Peak stands majestically in the backdrop, creating a stunning panorama that’s perfect for photography, so make sure your cameras are ready.
  • For those in the mood for an adventure, there’s an optional side trek to the Kangyatze base camp. This short detour offers a closer view of the towering peak, giving you a unique perspective on the landscape and making for an unforgettable experience.
  • After reaching our campsite for the day, we’ll set up our tents in a tranquil spot surrounded by untouched natural beauty.
  • As evening falls, settle in and relax as we serve a delicious hot meal, prepared just for you. Under the vast starlit sky, you’ll have a peaceful night to rest and recharge for the journey ahead.
Day 9 Day 9: Departure from Leh
  • On Day 8, we’ll start our day with a nourishing breakfast to refuel our energy for the exciting journey ahead. Today, we’ll be conquering Kongmaru La pass, the highest point on our trek at a towering 5,200 meters.
  • This challenging ascent rewards you with breathtaking panoramic views of the iconic Nun Kun and Saser Kangri ranges – an experience that’s bound to leave you in awe.
  • After taking in the views from the summit, we’ll begin our descent towards Sumdo. Along the way, you’ll enjoy scenic trails with river crossings and pass through picturesque villages that add a charming touch to the journey.
  • Once we arrive in Sumdo, we’ll conclude our trekking adventure with a drive back to Leh, giving you time to reflect on the incredible experiences of the trek.
  • Upon arrival in Leh, we’ll check you into your comfortable hotel room, where you can take a short rest and unwind after a long day. For those interested, there’s also an opportunity to explore the vibrant Leh market and pick up some souvenirs to remember your journey.
  • As evening falls, enjoy a delicious dinner, provided as part of our Skyhike package, and relax for the night in preparation for your return journey. Take time to rest and relive the memories of this remarkable adventure.

  • 👉 While entering passenger names during the booking process, Do ensure that they exactly match the names on the travel documents (e.g. Aadhar Crad/PAN card/ Passport/Voter ID card/Any Identity Card) that you will be carrying for the Trip/Trek.

  • 👉 The passenger names in the booking form should be exactly as per Adhar Card. Sky Hike will not bear any liability for the name change fee if incorrect names and ages have been added at the time of booking.

  • 👉 In case your package needs to be canceled due to any natural calamity, weather conditions, etc. SkyHike reserves the right to deny a refund request in the event of a disaster, depending on the nature of the disaster and its impact on the organization.

  • 👉 Sky Hike reserves the right to modify the itinerary at any point, due to reasons including but not limited to Force Majeure events, strikes, fairs, festivals, weather conditions, traffic problems, cancellation rescheduling, closure of /entry restrictions at a place of visit, etc. While we will do our best to make suitable alternate arrangements, we will not be held liable for any refunds/compensation claims arising out of this.

Payment Policies

👉 100.0% of the total Trip/Trek cost will have to be paid 7 days before the Date of Travel.

👉 To confirm your Trek/Trip booking, a 30% advance payment is necessary. Once we receive your deposit, we'll send you a confirmation email with all the details, Invoice & due amount, and payment date.

 

Cancelation & Refund Policy

👉 If cancellation is made 30 days or more before the Date of Travel, 25% of the total Booking Cost will be charged as cancellation fees.

👉 If cancellation is made between 29 days to 16 days before the date of travel, 50% of the total Booking Cost will be charged as cancellation fees.

👉 If cancellation is made between 7 days to 15 days before the date of travel, 80% of the total Booking Cost will be charged as cancellation fees.

👉 If cancellation is made within 7 days before the date of travel, the total booking cost will be charged as cancellation fees.

👉 If payment is not made as per the schedule provided in the first booking confirmation Email, Sky Hike reserves the right to cancel the booking after attempting to get in touch with you. Refunds would be as per the package Cancellation policy.

👉 Transfer your Trek/Trip (any Trek/Trip, within 2 months of your Date of Travel) to your friend before 15 days of your Date of Travel.

👉 70% cash voucher in the form of 'HikeCoin' for any other Trip/Trek for one year, If we are informed before 20 days of the date of travel. (1 Rupees = 10 HikeCoin)

👉 80% cash voucher in the form of 'HikeCoin' for the same Trip/Trek for one year. If we are informed before 20 days of the date of travel. (1 Rupee = 10 HikeCoin)

👉 The applicable refund amount will be processed within 10 business days.

 

Child Policy

👉 We recommend avoiding going on adventure trips with young children below the age of 7 years including Dham Yatra. The Dham Yatra has a demanding itinerary that can be challenging for young children.

👉 Children under 5 years old are free of charge. However, Please note that this typically applies to one child per paying adult. Additional children under 5 Y/O may require a separate seat or pay a discounted fare.

👉 Children between 6 and 12 years old will be charged 70% of the adult travel cost (per person).

👉 Children 13 years and older will be charged the full adult travel cost.

👉 Please be sure to provide the accurate age of all traveling children at the time of booking.

👉 Documentation proving a child's age may be required during check-in (e.g., birth certificate, Adhar Card/Passport).

How to Reach Leh
To reach Leh, you can consider the following transportation methods:
  • By Air: The fastest way is to fly directly to Leh's Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport from cities like Delhi, which takes about 2 hours.
  • By Train: The nearest railway station is Jammu Tawi, approximately 700 km away from Leh. From Jammu, you can hire a cab or take a JKSRTC bus to reach Leh.
  • By Bus: There are bus services available from major cities like Srinagar and Manali to Leh. The routes are scenic but can take a longer time due to the mountainous terrain.
