Khimloga Pass Trek Package 8 Nights 9 Days is a challenging high-altitude Himalayan trek designed for experienced trekkers who want to explore one of the most remote and adventurous routes connecting Uttarakhand with Himachal Pradesh. The trek begins from Sankri and moves through Jakhol, Liwari, Surmola Thach, Vishkhopri, Lower Thangal Thach, Khimloga high camps, and finally descends towards Chitkul village.

The highlight of this trek is crossing the spectacular Khimloga Pass at an altitude of around 5,712 metres. The trail offers dense forests, alpine meadows, river crossings, rocky terrain, glacier sections, remote campsites, and wide Himalayan views. Every day brings a different trekking experience, from forest walks and meadow trails to steep ascents and demanding high-altitude sections.

This trek is suitable for trekkers with strong physical fitness, prior high-altitude trekking experience, and good endurance. Khimloga Pass is not a beginner-friendly trek, as the route involves long trekking days, rough terrain, altitude gain, glacier patches, and remote camping conditions. For adventure lovers, this trek offers a raw, scenic, and unforgettable Himalayan expedition experience.

Itinerary

Day 1 Dehradun to Sankri
  • Arrive in Dehradun and begin the scenic drive towards Sankri.
  • The drive covers approximately 210 km and takes you through mountain roads, river valleys, pine forests, and remote Himalayan villages.
  • Enjoy the changing landscapes as you move deeper into the Garhwal Himalayas.
  • Upon arrival at Sankri, check in to your stay and relax after the long journey.
  • In the evening, attend a trek briefing session with the trek leader.
  • The briefing will include route details, safety instructions, high-altitude precautions, packing guidance, and trekking discipline.
  • Overnight stay will be arranged at Sankri.
Day 2 Sankri to Jakhol by Drive and Trek to Liwari
  • After breakfast, drive from Sankri to Jakhol.
  • Jakhol is one of the remote villages of the region and serves as the starting point for the trek.
  • From Jakhol, begin the trek towards Liwari via Baicha.
  • The trail introduces trekkers to village routes, forest patches, mountain surroundings, and the natural beauty of the valley.
  • Walk through peaceful trails and gradually enter the remote trekking zone.
  • Reach Liwari and settle into the campsite or local stay as per arrangement.
  • Overnight stay will be arranged at Liwari.
Day 3 Liwari to Surmola Thach
  • After breakfast, start the trek from Liwari to Surmola Thach.
  • The trekking distance for the day is approximately 10 km.
  • The trail passes through dense forests, alpine meadows, river crossings, and scenic mountain sections.
  • Trekkers will experience a gradual shift from village surroundings to remote wilderness.
  • The route offers a beautiful mix of forest trails, open landscapes, and natural water streams.
  • Reach Surmola Thach and enjoy the peaceful campsite surrounded by natural beauty.
  • Overnight stay will be arranged at Surmola Thach.
Day 4 Surmola Thach to Vishkhopri
  • After breakfast, begin the trek from Surmola Thach to Vishkhopri.
  • The trekking distance for the day is approximately 9 km.
  • The route includes a gradual ascent with beautiful Himalayan views throughout the trail.
  • As the altitude increases, the landscape becomes more open, dramatic, and scenic.
  • Trekkers can enjoy panoramic views of surrounding peaks, valleys, and high-altitude terrain.
  • Reach Vishkhopri and rest at the campsite.
  • Overnight stay will be arranged at Vishkhopri.
Day 5 Vishkhopri to Lower Thangal Thach
  • After breakfast, start the trek from Vishkhopri to Lower Thangal Thach.
  • The trekking distance for the day is approximately 8 km.
  • The trail crosses Nishani Thach and continues through scenic alpine sections.
  • The route offers wide meadows, mountain views, and a peaceful high-altitude trekking experience.
  • This section helps trekkers move closer towards the Khimloga Pass base region.
  • Reach Lower Thangal Thach and set up camp for the night.
  • Overnight stay will be arranged at Lower Thangal Thach.
Day 6 Lower Thangal Thach to Khimloga Camp 1
  • After breakfast, begin the trek towards Khimloga Camp 1.
  • The trekking distance for the day is approximately 7 km.
  • This section includes a steep climb towards the high-altitude campsite.
  • The terrain becomes more rugged and demanding as trekkers move closer to Khimloga Pass.
  • Trekkers should maintain a steady pace and follow the trek leader’s instructions carefully.
  • Reach Khimloga Camp 1 and rest for acclimatization.
  • Overnight stay will be arranged at Khimloga Camp 1.
Day 7 Khimloga Camp 1 to Khimloga Camp 2
  • After breakfast, trek from Khimloga Camp 1 to Khimloga Camp 2.
  • The trekking distance for the day is approximately 5 km.
  • This day is important for acclimatization before the pass crossing.
  • The route passes through rocky terrain, glacier sections, and high-altitude landscapes.
  • Trekkers should move carefully and follow proper safety instructions throughout the route.
  • The campsite offers a raw and remote Himalayan camping experience before the summit day.
  • Reach Khimloga Camp 2 and prepare for the pass crossing.

Day 8 Khimloga Camp 2 to Khimloga Pass and Janspad Gad
  • Start early in the morning for the most important and challenging day of the trek.
  • Trek from Khimloga Camp 2 towards Khimloga Pass.
  • Khimloga Pass is located at an altitude of around 5,712 metres.
  • Cross the spectacular Khimloga Pass and experience breathtaking views of the surrounding Himalayan ranges.
  • This section may include snow, glacier terrain, steep climbs, rocky patches, and a demanding descent.
  • After crossing the pass, descend carefully towards Janspad Gad.
  • This is a long and strenuous trekking day, so trekkers must follow the trek leader’s instructions at all times.

Day 9 Janspad Gad to Chitkul Village
  • After breakfast, begin the final descent towards Chitkul village.

  • 👉 Failure to make a timely payment may result in auto-cancellation without prior notice.
  • 👉 Valid ID proof (Aadhar card, passport, etc.) must be submitted at the time of booking.
  • 👉 For international trips, passport copies with a minimum of 6 months' validity and visa documents must be submitted as per deadlines.
  • 👉 Payments accepted via UPI, Net Banking, Credit/Debit Cards, or bank transfers.
  • 👉 Payments made via Credit/Debit Card may attract an additional payment gateway charge (as per the gateway's fee structure).
  • 👉 Cash payments (if any) must be acknowledged with an official receipt.
  • 👉 If you choose to book flight, train, or bus tickets through SkyHike’s team, Full payment is required to issue flight, train, or bus tickets.

Cancelation & Refund Policy
  • 👉 The advance amount is non-refundable.
  • 👉 The guest is eligible to request a refund only if the paid booking amount exceeds 30%.
  • 👉 If cancellation is made 30 days or more before the Date of Travel, 30% of the total Booking Cost will be charged as cancellation fees.
  • 👉 If cancellation is made between 29 days to 16 days before the date of travel, 50% of the total Booking Cost will be charged as cancellation fees.
  • 👉 If cancellation is made between 7 days to 15 days before the date of travel, 80% of the total Booking Cost will be charged as cancellation fees.
  • 👉 If cancellation is made within 7 days before the date of travel, the total booking cost will be charged as cancellation fees.
    Last-minute No-Show: 100% cancellation charges applicable. No reschedule. No refund.
  • 👉 If payment is not made as per the schedule provided in the first booking confirmation Email, Sky Hike reserves the right to cancel the booking after attempting to get in touch with you. Refunds will be issued as per the package cancellation policy.
  • 👉 Transfer your Trek/Trip (any Trek/Trip, within 2 months of your Date of Travel) to your friend before 15 days of your Date of Travel. However, your friend will be eligible for the transfer only if they have not booked any trip/trek with us and have yet to travel.
  • 👉 You can only transfer your Trip or Trek to those friends or People who haven’t booked any trip with us in a given time period.
  • 👉 80% cash voucher in the form of 'HikeCoin' for any other Trip/Trek for one year, if we are informed before 20 days of the date of travel. (1 Rupees = 10 HikeCoin)
  • 👉 90% cash voucher in the form of 'HikeCoin' for the same Trip/Trek for one year. If we are informed 20 days before the date of travel, (1 Rupee = 10 HikeCoin)
  • 👉 The applicable refund amount will be processed within 10 business days.
  • 👉 The company is not liable for compensation beyond the tour cost.
  • 👉 Non-Refundable Items: Flight/train/bus tickets once issued are non-refundable.
  • 👉 Permit fees, forest entry charges, or third-party service charges are non-refundable.
  • 👉 Flight/train/bus tickets once issued are non-refundable unless the carrier’s official policy allows cancellation with a refund.
  • 👉 Flight/train/bus tickets applicable refunds will be processed as per the terms of that organization or Booking Portal, and service charges (if any) will be deducted.
  • 👉 No refund will be made for partially utilized services like early check-out, skipped meals, missed sightseeing, or transport.
  • 👉 If sightseeing tickets have been pre-booked, refund eligibility will depend on the official cancellation policy of the issuing authority or managing organization of that specific attraction.
