The trek begins from Sankri and moves through Jakhol, Liwari, Surmola Thach, Vishkhopri, Lower Thangal Thach, Khimloga high camps, and finally descends towards Chitkul village.

The highlight of this trek is crossing the spectacular Khimloga Pass at an altitude of around 5,712 metres. The trail offers dense forests, alpine meadows, river crossings, rocky terrain, glacier sections, remote campsites, and wide Himalayan views. Every day brings a different trekking experience, from forest walks and meadow trails to steep ascents and demanding high-altitude sections.

This trek is suitable for trekkers with strong physical fitness, prior high-altitude trekking experience, and good endurance. Khimloga Pass is not a beginner-friendly trek, as the route involves long trekking days, rough terrain, altitude gain, glacier patches, and remote camping conditions. For adventure lovers, this trek offers a raw, scenic, and unforgettable Himalayan expedition experience.

Itinerary

Day 1 Dehradun to Sankri
  • Arrive in Dehradun and begin the scenic drive towards Sankri.
  • The drive covers approximately 210 km and takes you through mountain roads, river valleys, pine forests, and remote Himalayan villages.
  • Enjoy the changing landscapes as you move deeper into the Garhwal Himalayas.
  • Upon arrival at Sankri, check in to your stay and relax after the long journey.
  • In the evening, attend a trek briefing session with the trek leader.
  • The briefing will include route details, safety instructions, high-altitude precautions, packing guidance, and trekking discipline.
  • Overnight stay will be arranged at Sankri.
Day 2 Sankri to Jakhol by Drive and Trek to Liwari
  • After breakfast, drive from Sankri to Jakhol.
  • Jakhol is one of the remote villages of the region and serves as the starting point for the trek.
  • From Jakhol, begin the trek towards Liwari via Baicha.
  • The trail introduces trekkers to village routes, forest patches, mountain surroundings, and the natural beauty of the valley.
  • Walk through peaceful trails and gradually enter the remote trekking zone.
  • Reach Liwari and settle into the campsite or local stay as per arrangement.
  • Overnight stay will be arranged at Liwari.
Day 3 Liwari to Surmola Thach
  • After breakfast, start the trek from Liwari to Surmola Thach.
  • The trekking distance for the day is approximately 10 km.
  • The trail passes through dense forests, alpine meadows, river crossings, and scenic mountain sections.
  • Trekkers will experience a gradual shift from village surroundings to remote wilderness.

  • Reach Surmola Thach and enjoy the peaceful campsite surrounded by natural beauty.
  • Overnight stay will be arranged at Surmola Thach.
Day 4 Surmola Thach to Vishkhopri
  • After breakfast, begin the trek from Surmola Thach to Vishkhopri.
  • The trekking distance for the day is approximately 9 km.

  • As the altitude increases, the landscape becomes more open, dramatic, and scenic.

Day 5 Vishkhopri to Lower Thangal Thach

Day 9 Janspad Gad to Chitkul Village

Cancelation & Refund Policy
  • 👉 The advance amount is non-refundable.
  • 👉 The guest is eligible to request a refund only if the paid booking amount exceeds 30%.
  • 👉 If cancellation is made 30 days or more before the Date of Travel, 30% of the total Booking Cost will be charged as cancellation fees.
  • 👉 If cancellation is made between 29 days to 16 days before the date of travel, 50% of the total Booking Cost will be charged as cancellation fees.
  • 👉 If cancellation is made between 7 days to 15 days before the date of travel, 80% of the total Booking Cost will be charged as cancellation fees.
  • 👉 If cancellation is made within 7 days before the date of travel, the total booking cost will be charged as cancellation fees.
    Last-minute No-Show: 100% cancellation charges applicable. No reschedule. No refund.
  • 👉 If payment is not made as per the schedule provided in the first booking confirmation Email, Sky Hike reserves the right to cancel the booking after attempting to get in touch with you. Refunds will be issued as per the package cancellation policy.
  • 👉 Transfer your Trek/Trip (any Trek/Trip, within 2 months of your Date of Travel) to your friend before 15 days of your Date of Travel. However, your friend will be eligible for the transfer only if they have not booked any trip/trek with us and have yet to travel.
