Package Highlights

Pindari Glacier Trek Package 5 Nights 6 Days is one of the most scenic and beginner-friendly glacier treks in the Kumaon Himalayas of Uttarakhand. Located in the Bageshwar district, this trek takes you to the famous Pindari Glacier Zero Point at an altitude of 3,660 meters. The uploaded itinerary confirms that the classic route follows Khati Village, Dwali, Phurkiya, Zero Point and return through the same route, covering around 52 km round trip.

The journey starts from Kathgodam and takes you through Bhimtal, Almora, Bageshwar, Kapkot and Bharadi before reaching Khati Village, the last motorable village and base point of the trek. From here, the trail moves through peaceful forests, riverside paths, mountain villages and high-altitude landscapes. The trek is considered moderate and suitable for beginners with basic fitness, making it a great choice for first-time Himalayan trekkers.

This trek is known for its glacier views, peaceful Kumaon villages, the Pindar River valley and views of mighty peaks like Baljuri, Nanda Kot and Panwali Dwar. The best time mentioned in the source is mid-April to mid-June and mid-September to mid-November, while monsoon and winter are generally closed due to landslides and snow.

Itinerary

Day 1 Kathgodam to Khati Village
  • Your journey begins early in the morning with pickup from Kathgodam Railway Station around 6:30 AM. After meeting the team, start your scenic road journey towards Khati Village.
  • The drive passes through beautiful Kumaon routes including Bhimtal, Almora, Bageshwar, Kapkot, Bharadi and Dhoor. The route offers mountain views, river valleys, pine forests and peaceful Himalayan landscapes.
  • Reach Khati Village by evening. Khati is the last motorable village on this trek and serves as the base village for the Pindari Glacier Trek. Check in to your homestay and relax after the long journey.
  • In the evening, the trek leader will brief the group about the route, safety instructions, trek difficulty and next day’s plan.
  • Dinner and overnight stay will be in Khati Village.
Day 2 Khati Village to Dwali
  • After breakfast, begin your trek from Khati Village to Dwali. This is the first major trekking day of the journey.
  • The trail is around 13 km and passes through dense oak and rhododendron forests, peaceful mountain sections and scenic riverside paths. The Pindar River flows along the route, making the walk refreshing and beautiful.
  • The trek includes gradual ascents and long walking stretches. Even though the distance is slightly long, the natural beauty of the trail makes the experience memorable.
  • Reach Dwali by afternoon or evening and check in to a guest house. Relax after the trek and enjoy a warm meal.
  • Dinner and overnight stay will be in Dwali.
Day 3 Dwali to Phurkiya
  • After breakfast, begin your trek from Dwali to Phurkiya. This is a shorter trekking day, covering around 5 km.
  • The trail starts gradually and becomes more challenging towards the final stretch, where the last section involves a steep ascent before reaching Phurkiya. As you gain altitude, the landscapes become more open and dramatic.
  • Reach Phurkiya by midday or afternoon. After arrival, enjoy lunch and spend the rest of the day relaxing and acclimatizing.
  • The evening is free to enjoy the peaceful mountain surroundings and prepare for the next day’s trek to Pindari Glacier Zero Point.
  • Dinner and overnight stay will be in Phurkiya.
Day 4 Phurkiya to Pindari Glacier Zero Point and Back to Phurkiya
  • This is the most important day of the trek. Start early in the morning around 5:00 AM for Pindari Glacier Zero Point.

  • Dinner and overnight stay will be in Phurkiya.
Day 5 Phurkiya to Dwali to Khati Village
  • After breakfast, begin your descent from Phurkiya towards Dwali and then continue further to Khati Village.
