Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek Nepal 6 Nights 7 Days is a beautiful Himalayan journey through the Annapurna region, combining Kathmandu, Pokhara and a short mountain trek through traditional villages and rhododendron forests. The reference package is a 7 Days 6 Nights itinerary with an easy to moderate difficulty level and a maximum altitude of around 3,200 metres.

The trek begins after travelling from Kathmandu to Pokhara and continues from Nayapul through Birethanti and Tikhedhunga towards Ghorepani. Along the trail, trekkers pass through settlements such as Ulleri and Banthanti while enjoying views of Machhapuchhre, Hiunchuli and Annapurna South. The accommodation during the trekking portion is arranged in mountain lodges or tea houses.

The highlight of the journey is an early morning hike to Poon Hill for sunrise views across the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. The package also offers an opportunity to experience Gurung and Magar village life, traditional Nepalese hospitality, forests, waterfalls and mountain scenery while following one of Nepal's popular beginner-friendly trekking routes.

Day 1 Begin Your Journey from Delhi and Arrive in Kathmandu
  • Begin your journey from Delhi and travel to Kathmandu.
  • On arrival at Kathmandu Airport, meet the local representative and proceed towards your hotel.
  • Complete the hotel check-in formalities and settle into your room.
  • Spend the remaining time relaxing after your journey.
  • Prepare yourself for the Himalayan trekking experience ahead.
  • Depending on your arrival time, you may explore the nearby surroundings of Kathmandu at your own pace.
  • Overnight stay in Kathmandu. The reference itinerary begins with arrival in Kathmandu and an overnight hotel stay. 
Day 2 Travel from Kathmandu to Pokhara and Enjoy Your First Himalayan Views
  • Enjoy breakfast at the hotel and prepare for your journey towards Pokhara.
  • Begin the scenic road journey from Kathmandu to Pokhara.
  • The reference itinerary estimates this journey at approximately 7 hours.
  • Enjoy changing views of Nepal's hills, countryside, rivers and settlements during the journey.
  • As you approach Pokhara, admire views towards the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges, subject to weather and visibility.

  • Drive from Pokhara towards Nayapul, the starting point of the trekking route.
  • Begin trekking from Nayapul at approximately 1,050 metres.
  • Continue towards Birethanti, situated at approximately 1,065 metres.
  • Walk through small Himalayan settlements, local villages and beautiful countryside.
  • The initial section of the trail follows a comparatively comfortable route before gradually beginning to ascend.
  • Continue trekking towards Tikhedhunga at approximately 1,577 metres.
  • The reference itinerary estimates approximately four and a half hours of trekking on this section.
  • Reach Tikhedhunga and settle into your mountain lodge.
  • Overnight stay in Tikhedhunga.
Day 4 Trek from Tikhedhunga Through Ulleri and Banthanti to Ghorepani
  • Enjoy breakfast at the lodge and prepare for another beautiful trekking day.
  • Begin with a steep uphill section that takes approximately two hours according to the reference itinerary.
  • Continue through the traditional Magar village of Ulleri at approximately 2,070 metres.
  • Proceed through Banthanti and experience the peaceful mountain surroundings.
  • Enjoy views towards Machhapuchhre, also known as Fishtail Mountain, Hiunchuli and Annapurna South along the trail.
  • Continue trekking through beautiful forest sections as you approach Ghorepani.
  • The reference itinerary estimates the overall trekking duration for this day at approximately 6 hours.

  • Relax and prepare for the early morning Poon Hill excursion.

Day 5 Witness Sunrise from Poon Hill and Return to Pokhara
  • Wake up early and begin your hike towards Poon Hill.
  • Reach Poon Hill at approximately 3,200 metres and prepare for the highlight of the trek.
  • Witness sunrise over the Himalayan ranges, subject to weather and visibility.
  • Enjoy panoramic views towards Dhaulagiri, Annapurna I, Annapurna South, Machhapuchhre, Nilgiri and several surrounding Himalayan peaks.
  • Spend some time enjoying the mountain panorama before beginning your descent.
  • Return towards Ghorepani and enjoy breakfast.
  • Continue trekking through forests of rhododendron, bamboo and oak.
  • Pass waterfalls, rocky sections and beautiful natural landscapes while descending.
  • Continue towards Tikhedhunga and proceed towards the roadhead for your onward transfer.
  • Drive back towards Pokhara after completing the trekking section.
  • Check in at your hotel and relax after the trek.
  • Overnight stay in Pokhara. 
Day 6 Leave Pokhara and Travel Back to Kathmandu
  • Enjoy breakfast at the hotel and complete the check-out formalities.
  • Begin your road journey from Pokhara towards Kathmandu.
  • The reference itinerary estimates the drive at approximately 7 hours.
  • Travel through Damauli, Dumre, Muglin and other settlements along the route.
  • Enjoy views of green hills, agricultural fields, terraced landscapes and local villages during the journey.
  • The route also passes the Kurintar region associated with the cable car to Manakamana Temple.
  • Continue towards Kathmandu and reach your hotel.

Day 7 Depart from Kathmandu and Begin Your Return Journey to Delhi

The Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek is classified as easy to moderate in the reference package and reaches a maximum altitude of around 3,200 metres.

Travellers should maintain reasonable physical fitness and prepare for several hours of walking on consecutive trekking days.

The Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani section includes steep uphill climbing and requires good stamina.

Travellers should follow the instructions of the trek leader or guide throughout the journey.

Avoid trekking alone after dark unless specifically required by the itinerary and accompanied by the trek guide.

Weather conditions in the mountains can change quickly and may require changes to the trekking schedule.

Sunrise and Himalayan views from Poon Hill depend entirely on weather and visibility.

Carry appropriate trekking shoes with good grip and ankle support.

Carry enough warm clothing because temperatures can fall considerably in mountain areas.

A waterproof or windproof jacket should be included in your trekking gear.

Keep luggage as light as possible and use a comfortable trekking backpack.

Carry a reusable water bottle and remain adequately hydrated during the trek.

Avoid littering and help maintain the ecological environment of the Annapurna region. The reference package specifically asks trekkers to avoid plastic waste and littering.

Electricity, charging facilities, mobile connectivity, Wi-Fi and hot water may be limited or separately chargeable at mountain lodges.

Accommodation in tea houses and mountain lodges is basic compared with city hotels.

Travellers with medical conditions should consult their doctor before undertaking the trek.

Children below 7 years are not recommended for this trek according to the reference package.

The trekking itinerary may be changed because of weather, trail conditions, natural calamities or safety considerations.

Payment & Confirmation Policies
  • 👉 100.0% of the total Trip/Trek cost will have to be paid 7 days before the Date of Travel.
  • 👉 Booking will be considered confirmed only after a minimum advance payment of 30% of the total package cost.
  • 👉 Once we receive your deposit, we'll send you a confirmation email with all the details, the Invoice & due amount, and the payment date.
  • 👉 Failure to make a timely payment may result in auto-cancellation without prior notice.
  • 👉 Valid ID proof (Aadhar card, passport, etc.) must be submitted at the time of booking.
  • 👉 For international trips, passport copies with a minimum of 6 months' validity and visa documents must be submitted as per deadlines.
  • 👉 Payments accepted via UPI, Net Banking, Credit/Debit Cards, or bank transfers.
  • 👉 Payments made via Credit/Debit Card may attract an additional payment gateway charge (as per the gateway's fee structure).
  • 👉 Cash payments (if any) must be acknowledged with an official receipt.
  • 👉 If you choose to book flight, train, or bus tickets through SkyHike’s team, Full payment is required to issue flight, train, or bus tickets.
  • 👉 Transport ticket prices are dynamic. Final fare will be as per the live rates visible on the booking portals at the time of processing. Any price difference from previous quotes will be chargeable.
Cancelation & Refund Policy
  • 👉 The advance amount is non-refundable.
  • 👉 The guest is eligible to request a refund only if the paid booking amount exceeds 30%.
  • 👉 If cancellation is made 30 days or more before the Date of Travel, 30% of the total Booking Cost will be charged as cancellation fees.
  • 👉 If cancellation is made between 29 days to 16 days before the date of travel, 50% of the total Booking Cost will be charged as cancellation fees.
  • 👉 If cancellation is made between 7 days to 15 days before the date of travel, 80% of the total Booking Cost will be charged as cancellation fees.
  • 👉 If cancellation is made within 7 days before the date of travel, the total booking cost will be charged as cancellation fees.
    Last-minute No-Show: 100% cancellation charges applicable. No reschedule. No refund.
  • 👉 If payment is not made as per the schedule provided in the first booking confirmation Email, Sky Hike reserves the right to cancel the booking after attempting to get in touch with you. Refunds will be issued as per the package cancellation policy.
  • 👉 Transfer your Trek/Trip (any Trek/Trip, within 2 months of your Date of Travel) to your friend before 15 days of your Date of Travel. However, your friend will be eligible for the transfer only if they have not booked any trip/trek with us and have yet to travel.
  • 👉 You can only transfer your Trip or Trek to those friends or People who haven’t booked any trip with us in a given time period.
