Know Before You Go
  1. Plan carefully and obtain necessary permits, especially for foreign nationals, as Spiti Valley is a restricted area, and Inner Line Permits are required.
  2. Acclimatize to high altitudes (average 12,000-14,000 ft) by spending a day or two in Manali or Kaza before starting the trek to minimize the risk of acute mountain sickness.
  3. Prepare for extreme weather conditions, including snow, cold temperatures (-20°C to -30°C), and limited infrastructure, by packing warm clothing, waterproof gear, and emergency supplies.
