The adventure begins bright and early with a drive from Dehradun to Netala, setting the tone for an exciting journey ahead.
SkyHike has got everything planned, ensuring a smooth 8-9 hour drive through the stunning landscapes of Uttarakhand.
Along the way, we’ll pass through beautiful spots like Landour, Moriana Top, and Chinyalisour, with scenic views of the mountains and valleys.
You’ll have a chance to relax and enjoy breakfast at a roadside stop before continuing the journey.
By the time we reach Netala in the evening, we’ll settle into our cozy campsite, ready for the next day's adventure.
Dinner will be served under the starry sky, allowing you to unwind with your fellow trekkers and share stories of the day's journey.
Day 2 kicks off with a hearty breakfast, fueling us for the day’s trek.
We’ll drive for about an hour to Silla Village, the starting point for our trek to Gairi.
This 8 km trek (around 5 hours) will take you through traditional Garhwal villages, lush forests, and dense vegetation.
As we trek, you’ll encounter wooden huts, meet local villagers, and witness their lifestyle in the wild.
SkyHike ensures that the experience is both enriching and easy to follow, with well-marked paths and local guides to help.
Gairi is where we’ll set up camp for the night. Enjoy a warm dinner in this peaceful settlement, surrounded by the beauty of nature.
The atmosphere in Gairi is perfect for stargazing, allowing you to reflect on the day’s adventure.
We’ll start the day with a satisfying breakfast before hitting the trail to Kush Kalyan Bugyal.
This 10 km trek (about 6-7 hours) will take us through dense oak forests and alpine meadows, so make sure to keep your camera handy.
The path might be challenging at times, but the views are worth every step.
As we approach Kush Kalyan, you’ll experience the serene beauty of this lesser-known bugyal, where locals from nearby villages migrate with their cattle.
SkyHike will ensure that we’re well-equipped for the hike, with plenty of breaks to recharge.
At the end of the trek, we’ll camp at Kush Kalyan, where you’ll enjoy a hearty dinner with fellow trekkers, soaking in the peaceful surroundings and sharing stories of the day.
On Day 4, we’ll trek from Kush Kalyan to the remote Kyarki Bugyal, a 12 km trek (around 6-7 hours).
Kyarki is far less inhabited, providing a quiet, serene experience with views of majestic peaks like Srikanth and Kalanaag.
Along the way, we might even spot wildlife like the Himalayan Bear and Ibex.
Once we arrive at Kyarki, we’ll set up camp and enjoy a delicious dinner, taking in the stunning mountain views and the crisp evening air.
After a restful night under the stars, we’ll begin Day 5 with a filling breakfast to kickstart our trek to Lamb Tal.
This 6 km trek (about 3-4 hours) will take us through narrow cliffs and gradual ascents.
We’ll pass the Dharamshala campsite and then begin the climb up to the Kokuli Top.
From here, we’ll enjoy stunning panoramic views of the Khatling Glacier and surrounding lakes.
SkyHike ensures that we take regular breaks to rest and enjoy the breathtaking scenery along the way.
Once we reach Lamb Tal, we’ll enjoy a warm dinner by the lakeside, the perfect way to end the day after a shorter but rewarding trek.
Day 6 brings us to the spiritually significant Sahastra Tal.
This is a more challenging 12 km trek (around 8-9 hours), but with SkyHike’s support, it’ll be a journey you won’t forget.
After trekking through some tough spots, we’ll finally reach the holy waters of Sahastra Tal, where you can bathe and refresh in the sacred surroundings.
After taking in the tranquility of the place, we’ll begin our return journey to Dharamshala.
On the way back, we’ll enjoy packed lunches and quick snacks to keep us going.
Dinner will be served at the Dharamshala campsite, where we can reflect on the spiritual and physical highs of the day.
On Day 7, we’ll trek back to Kush Kalyan, covering a 9-10 km distance (around 6-7 hours).
The journey back is more relaxed but still offers stunning views of the surrounding landscapes.
We’ll pass through lush bugyals and dense forests before returning to camp.
By evening, we’ll arrive at Kush Kalyan, set up our camp, and enjoy a satisfying dinner with everyone.
The peaceful night will give us time to reminisce about the incredible moments of the past few days.
On this day, we’ll trek back to Silla Village, covering 12 km (around 7-8 hours).
The trail will take us through scenic meadows and thick forests, allowing us to soak in the beauty one last time.
Once we arrive at Silla, we’ll drive back to Netala, where you can relax after the trek and reflect on the journey.
Dinner will be served at our campsite in Netala, giving you a chance to unwind and enjoy a final meal with fellow trekkers.
On the final day, after a satisfying breakfast, we’ll drive back to Dehradun (175 km, about 7-8 hours).
It’ll be a bittersweet journey as we head home with unforgettable memories of the Sahastra Tal trek.

By evening, we’ll be back in Dehradun, ready to share our adventure stories and look forward to our next journey with SkyHike.

Weather Planning:
Shasastra Tal is situated at a high altitude, so expect cold temperatures year-round. The best time to visit is between May and October, avoiding the harsh winters and monsoon season.
Trekking Difficulty:
The trek to Shasastra Tal is moderate to challenging, requiring good physical fitness. Be prepared for a mix of steep climbs and rugged terrain.
Pack Wisely:
Bring warm clothing, sturdy trekking boots, and enough food and water, as the trek is remote. Don’t forget a rain jacket in case of unexpected showers.
Acclimatization:
Due to the high altitude (around 4,000 meters), take time to acclimatize to avoid altitude sickness. Stay hydrated and listen to your body throughout the trek.
👉 While entering passenger names during the booking process, Do ensure that they exactly match the names on the travel documents (e.g. Aadhar Crad/PAN card/ Passport/Voter ID card/Any Identity Card) that you will be carrying for the Trip/Trek.
👉 The passenger names in the booking form should be exactly as per Adhar Card. Sky Hike will not bear any liability for the name change fee if incorrect names and ages have been added at the time of booking.
👉 In case your package needs to be canceled due to any natural calamity, weather conditions, etc. SkyHike reserves the right to deny a refund request in the event of a disaster, depending on the nature of the disaster and its impact on the organization.
👉 Sky Hike reserves the right to modify the itinerary at any point, due to reasons including but not limited to Force Majeure events, strikes, fairs, festivals, weather conditions, traffic problems, cancellation rescheduling, closure of /entry restrictions at a place of visit, etc. While we will do our best to make suitable alternate arrangements, we will not be held liable for any refunds/compensation claims arising out of this.

👉 To confirm your Trek/Trip booking, a 30% advance payment is necessary. Once we receive your deposit, we'll send you a confirmation email with all the details, Invoice & due amount, and payment date.
👉 If cancellation is made 30 days or more before the Date of Travel, 25% of the total Booking Cost will be charged as cancellation fees.
👉 If cancellation is made between 29 days to 16 days before the date of travel, 50% of the total Booking Cost will be charged as cancellation fees.
👉 If cancellation is made between 7 days to 15 days before the date of travel, 80% of the total Booking Cost will be charged as cancellation fees.
👉 If cancellation is made within 7 days before the date of travel, the total booking cost will be charged as cancellation fees.
👉 If payment is not made as per the schedule provided in the first booking confirmation Email, Sky Hike reserves the right to cancel the booking after attempting to get in touch with you. Refunds will be issued as per the package cancellation policy.

👉 You can only Transfer your Trip or Trek to those friends or People who haven’t booked any trip with us in a given time period.

👉 The applicable refund amount will be processed within 10 business days.
👉 We recommend avoiding going on adventure trips with young children below the age of 7 years including Dham Yatra. The Dham Yatra has a demanding itinerary that can be challenging for young children.
👉 Children under 5 years old are free of charge. However, Please note that this typically applies to one child per paying adult. Additional children under 5 Y/O may require a separate seat or pay a discounted fare.
👉 Children between 6 and 12 years old will be charged 70% of the adult travel cost (per person).
