  • Fixed Flight Timing: This is a Daily Fixed Departure Helicopter tour, and the departure timings of each destination are fixed. Therefore, passengers must ensure they report as per the scheduled timing. However, SkyHike reserves the right to change/postpone the timings of flying one day prior, subject to weather/force majeure reasons.

Know Before You Go

The Char Dham Yatra, covering Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath, is a sacred journey undertaken by thousands of pilgrims every year. While the traditional trek involves long and challenging road travel, a helicopter tour offers a convenient and luxurious way to complete the pilgrimage in a short time. Before you embark on your Char Dham Yatra by helicopter, here are some important things to know:

Best Time for Char Dham Yatra by Helicopter

  • The Char Dham temples open in May and close around October or November before winter sets in.
  • The best time to travel is May–June and September–October, as the monsoon (July-August) may bring weather disruptions.

Duration of the Helicopter Yatra

  • A Char Dham Yatra by helicopter usually takes 6-7 days, depending on the package.
  • Some companies also offer Do Dham (Kedarnath & Badrinath) packages, which can be completed in 4-5 days.\

Departure and Landing Points

  • The journey typically starts from Dehradun (Sahastradhara Helipad).
  • Helicopters land at designated helipads near each dham, from where short transfers (by pony, palki, or car) are required to reach the temples.

Luggage Limitations

  • Due to weight restrictions, passengers are generally allowed only 5-7 kg per person.
  • Soft duffel bags are recommended instead of hard suitcases.

Weather Dependency

  • Flights are subject to weather conditions, and delays or rescheduling can happen due to rain, fog, or strong winds.
  • It’s recommended to keep buffer days in case of unexpected delays.

Darshan & VIP Access

  • Most helicopter packages include VIP darshan passes, allowing pilgrims to skip long queues at temples.
  • However, temple timings and crowd conditions may still affect the overall schedule.
